It is suggested to reserve 0.15% between rough machining and semi finish machining as the processing reservation index of S136. Due to the low impurity content of S136, it is very suitable for photolithography. Because of the excellent corrosion resistance of S136, a special photolithography procedure must be used. This feature has also been widely known by photolithography companies. The polishing, quenching and tempering of S136 have excellent polishing properties. However, the polishing technique is a little different from that of other AsAb steels. The main principle is to adopt multiple procedures in fine grinding and polishing, and do not polish on very rough surfaces. But when polishing, after the scratch left by the previous polishing procedure is removed, the polishing must be stopped immediately.
