低碳钢的腐蚀过程属于电化学过程。当钢中的铁原子以铁离子的形式不断溶解和腐蚀到人体水中,即使在中性水中,也会不断生成羟基离子,从而形成氢氧化亚铁。腐蚀产物进一步氧化为三价氢氧化物,脱水形成锈室。虽然大气中的氧和硫化合物可以腐蚀低碳钢,但二氧化硫是公认的大气中最重要的腐蚀性气体和污染网络。
暴露在外的低碳钢表面受氧腐蚀是不可避免的,通常腐蚀均匀,腐蚀速度相对较慢。硫化物常引起局部腐蚀,并能强烈加速腐蚀过程。腐蚀部位的高温气流是加速涂层分解、热氧老化、开裂、起泡和剥落的主要原因,车间顶板局部环境中的高浓度气体是导致局部颜色腐蚀的主要因素钢板。彩钢板在屋面的严重腐蚀是氧腐蚀、硫腐蚀、温度等因素共同作用的结果。

The corrosion process of low carbon steel belongs to electrochemical process. When the iron atoms in the steel are continuously dissolved and corroded into human water in the form of iron ions, even in neutral water, there will be a continuous generation of hydroxyl ions, which will lead to the formation of ferrous hydroxide. The corrosion products will be further oxidized to trivalent hydroxide and dehydrated to form rust chamber. Although oxygen and sulfur compounds in the atmosphere can corrode low carbon steel, sulfur dioxide is recognized as the most important corrosive gas and pollutant network in the atmosphere.
