首钢成立于1919年，总部位于北京。它有近百年的历史，在中国钢铁企业中排名第二。
首钢京唐公司位于河北省唐山市曹妃甸新区，是首钢搬迁调整的重要载体。
首钢京唐公司建设是党中央、国务院的重要战略决策，是国家“十一五”重点工程，是完全按照循环经济理念设计建设的国际先进钢铁联合企业。
首钢京唐公司的建设，历来受到党中央、国务院的亲切关怀。党和国家领导人对首钢京唐公司进行了调研和重要指示，提出了“高起点、高标准、高要求”的定位和“一流产品、一流管理、一流环境、一流效益”的建设目标。
首钢京唐公司一期钢铁工程设计年生产铁898万吨、钢970万吨、钢913万吨，2007年3月12日开工建设。2009年5月21日，1号5500m3高炉投产，炼钢、热轧、冷轧相继投产。钢铁厂一步到位。2010年6月26日，首钢京唐公司一期主体工程竣工投产。
目前，首钢京唐公司已按照国家要求，逐步成为“具有国际先进水平的优质板材生产基地和自主创新示范厂，节能减排和发展循环经济的标志性工厂”。

The construction of Shougang Jingtang company is an important strategic decision of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, a key project of the 11th Five Year Plan of the state, and an internationally advanced iron and steel joint enterprise designed and constructed in full accordance with the concept of circular economy.The construction of Shougang Jingtang company has always been warmly cared by the Party Central Committee and the State Council. Leaders of the party and the state have investigated and made important instructions to Shougang Jingtang company, and put forward the positioning of "high starting point, high standard and high requirement" and the construction goal of "first-class product, management, environment and benefit".

The first phase of the iron and steel project of Shougang Jingtang company is designed to produce 8.98 million tons of iron, 9.7 million tons of steel and 9.13 million tons of steel annually, and the construction started on March 12, 2007. On May 21, 2009, No.1 5500m3 blast furnace was put into operation, and then steel-making, hot rolling and cold rolling were put into operation successively. One step project of the iron and steel plant was completed. On June 26, 2010, the main project of phase I of Jingtang company of Shougang was completed and put into operation.
At present, Shougang Jingtang company has gradually become "a production base of high-quality plates with international advanced level and a demonstration factory of independent innovation, and a landmark factory for energy conservation, emission reduction and development of circular economy" in accordance with national requirements.
