彩涂板底漆是施于基板表面的第一层涂料，作为面层涂料的基础。主要起抗腐蚀作用;另外还可以起填平、修补、封闭等作用。另彩涂板底漆良好的附着力使墙面更趋平滑，令面漆更易涂敷，并可以减少面漆的使用量。 彩涂板的底漆用得最多的品种是环氧底漆和聚酯底漆(聚酯-氨基底漆和聚酯-聚氨酯底漆)，此外还有水溶性丙烯酸底漆，这些底漆除了以上提到的共同特点之外，还有其具体的特性。

(1)环氧底漆:与基板的附着力良好，耐水、耐碱、耐化学腐蚀的性能较好，但其柔韧性不及其他底漆。

(2)聚酯-氨基底漆:与基板的附着力好，柔韧性优，但对潮湿环境较敏感，耐化学腐蚀性不及环氧底漆

(3)水溶性丙烯酸底漆:对基板的附着力良好，很好的柔韧性，含有机溶剂少，低温固化，但不宜在潮湿环境下贮存，预处理要求高。

(4)聚氨酯(聚酯-聚氨酯)底漆:耐化学腐蚀性、耐摩擦性、耐久性和柔初性均好。

(1) Epoxy primer: It has good adhesion with the base plate, water resistance, alkali resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, but its flexibility is not as good as other primers.

(2) Polyester-amino primer: It has good adhesion and flexibility to the base plate, but it is more sensitive to humid environment and less resistant to chemical corrosion than epoxy primer.

(3) Water-soluble acrylic primer: good adhesion to the substrate, good flexibility, less organic solvents, low temperature curing, but not suitable for storage in humid environment, high requirements for pretreatment.

(4) Polyurethane (polyester-polyurethane) primer: good chemical corrosion resistance, friction resistance, durability and flexibility.
